To review documents relating to the existing work practices at BHP's Olympic Dam mine site.
To identify ways to improve existing work practices so they meet the safety standard.
To engage with key staff to understand the work practices relating to the standard, the practicalities of undertaking routine work practices, and any difficulties in implementing the existing procedures.
To design a simplified procedure template.
To draft a new set of safe work procedures.
Deliverables
011 x gap analysis summary identifying ways to improve existing current work practices so they meet the standard.
021 x simplified procedure template.
031 x set of new safe work procedures that achieve the work standard, as well as being easy to understand and practical to implement.
Outcome
BHP Olympic Dam now has a set of consistent and repeatable work procedures that are clear and easy to follow. This will help workers at the mine site stay safe when performing their daily duties.
