Air Chiseling Sheet Pile Wall Outer Harbour Berth 4
To expose the sheet pile wall at Outer Harbour Berth 4 using air chiseling to enable inspection and support remediation planning for the wharf structure.
Key tasks
Arrange suitably qualified personnel and equipment to complete the project, along with site access and inductions for all involved
Establish parameters for the coating inspector to test against, and help facilitate the inspection
Identify low points/perforations on sheet pile wall that appear to have greater than 25% material loss
Complete air-chiselling to identify low points/perforations for testing
Undertake material thickness testing for each air-chiselled area
Provide a report on the findings
Deliverables
011 x report detailing the quantity of steel loss for each zone e.g. splash zone, low water level etc.
Outcome
Based on our team’s comprehensive report, which outlined significant areas of defects, the client was able to evaluate the best repair methodology to prolong the lifespan of their asset.
